Hitman Blood Money Review

Hitman Blood Money is the last game from the Hitman Trilogy. Again the biggest difference with the previous Hitman games is the graphics. They look pretty good for a PlayStation 2 game. The possibilities in this Hitman are great. You can do every mission on many ways, because there are many routes to get to a place and to kill an enemy. Hitman can freerun on a simple way, there are several points in every map where you can climb a fence or walk over a ledge. If you are freerunning and you are spotted, you have a big problem. But if you aren't spotted you can avoid many guards and dangerous points on the map. The maps are designed on a great way, I love the freedom you got to do a contract. While doing a mission it sometimes felt like a free-roam game.

The AI is too agressive I think. When you are discovered, you will be immediately shot by multiple enemies. The upgrading of weapons is a great addition to the tactics of the game. You start with a single Silverballer, but at the end I had a semiautomatic, magnum bullet shooting, silenced, scoped, laser equipped and extended magazine dual Silverballer. At the end one shot was enough to kill, but thanks to the semiautomatic upgrade I could handle groups of enemies with much more ease.

Hitman Blood Money is the best Hitman I played until now, thanks to it's great level designs, many possibilities and weapon upgrades. A big disadvantage is the aggressive AI.

Hitman Contracts Review

Hitman Contracts is the second game from the Hitman Trilogy HD that I finished. Hitman Contracts is a bit shorter than Silent Assassin. I chose to play this game on Professional difficulty. The other thing I did different was the missions. This time I tried to get the Silent Assassin rating for every mission. This game offers more possibilities to complete a mission. Thanks to the many possibilities to a mission you can really do it on your own way. If you want to blow up your targets, you can place a bomb on their car. If explosions aren't your style, you can poison the food of your target. But if you prefer to see your target, you can snipe him or strangle it.

The graphics of this game are highly improved if you compare it to the other games. The only thing that isn't converted to HD for some reason are several cutscenes. I can't understand why they didn't convert them. Getting the Silent Assassin rating wasn't very difficult to get on most mission. I think the main reason for this is the improvements on the moving and killing system, you can do much more, but the AI isn't is much changed. From the twelve missions I got seven times the Silent Assassin rating so they are a bit too easy, although I played on Professional.

One of the new tools I like from this game is the syringe. With the syringe you can sedate enemies, so they don't die. The sedated enemy won't wake up anymore in your mission. The big advantage is that the sedated enemy doesn't count for your rating, because he didn't die and he isn't harmed.

I could recommend this game to everybody who likes to play a stealth game and for those who like a challenge: play this game on Professional and don't give up too soon. If you need to do a mission ten times to finish it, it's only an advantage because you train yourself really good.

Let's Play Hitman Trilogy HD

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is the first Hitman game I've ever played. Today I finished, much quicker than I thought. I played the game on Normal, so that must be the reason that I finished the game in three days. This game is so good, I love it! In the beginning my gameplay was terrible, I couldn't succeed in killing nobody and stay hidden. In Hitman it isn't necessary to play stealth. If you want to use your Machine Gun and kill every moving thing, you can do it, but it isn't very enjoyable.
All the contracts are different and great fun to play. Every mission has several ways to complete it and you need to find the best way by yourself. The only thing provided by the makers of the game are the objectives. The best kill is made without using a gun, because a gun spreads blood and that's detected guards, so you need to kill somebody different. That's why you have Fiber Wire. With Fiber Wire you can strangle enemies. They won't make sound and the environment stays clean. The only problem is that you need that body. Most of the time you can drag a body behind some crate or a wall. And then you need to hope that there is nobody who detects the body.

Today I started Hitman: Contracts after finishing Silent Assassin. The first thing I noticed when I started Contracts was the improved graphics, it's a huge difference. The controls are different and that's quite difficult. The L2 button is in Silent Assassin sprinting, but in Contracts it's sneaking. I didn't play Contracts very long so I can't tell much. Luckily for you I have still fifty Hitman contracts to do in three games, so you will hear much about the series!

Hitman Trilogy HD

Tuesday I bought the Hitman Trilogy HD in the PlayStation Store. I bought this game because of the price, it was only ten euros. The Trilogy features Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money. After I 'finished' Mass Effect 3, I started the Trilogy with Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin came out in 2002. The game starts in Italy. Hitman is at the beginning of Silent Assassin a gardener in a monastery. The priest of the monastery is kidnapped, so Hitman goes after him.
I like this game very much. The gameplay is very challenging and fun. At every contract there are many ways to finish it. It's quite difficult to finish a level without killing any other person than the target and not being discovered. Until now I succeeded only one time to get the Silent Assassin rating. At the end of every mission you get a rating based on the amount of bullets you shot, the amount of people you kill and the amount of conflicts you have. So if they are all zero, except for the kill, that is allowed to be one, you get the Silent Assassin rating.

Thanks to this game I know good graphics are not necessary for a game. If the gameplay is good, you don't need good graphics. Good graphics are even a bit distracting. In Hitman I never look at a computer screen, the only thing that on it is several white lines. In Mass Effect 3 for example, you see animations on the screen of a computer, and that's not necessary for a game. The next weeks you will read a lot about Hitman, because of the other games in the trilogy and because Hitman Absolution is free for PlayStation Plus next month!
