Hitman Contracts Review

Hitman Contracts is the second game from the Hitman Trilogy HD that I finished. Hitman Contracts is a bit shorter than Silent Assassin. I chose to play this game on Professional difficulty. The other thing I did different was the missions. This time I tried to get the Silent Assassin rating for every mission. This game offers more possibilities to complete a mission. Thanks to the many possibilities to a mission you can really do it on your own way. If you want to blow up your targets, you can place a bomb on their car. If explosions aren't your style, you can poison the food of your target. But if you prefer to see your target, you can snipe him or strangle it.

The graphics of this game are highly improved if you compare it to the other games. The only thing that isn't converted to HD for some reason are several cutscenes. I can't understand why they didn't convert them. Getting the Silent Assassin rating wasn't very difficult to get on most mission. I think the main reason for this is the improvements on the moving and killing system, you can do much more, but the AI isn't is much changed. From the twelve missions I got seven times the Silent Assassin rating so they are a bit too easy, although I played on Professional.

One of the new tools I like from this game is the syringe. With the syringe you can sedate enemies, so they don't die. The sedated enemy won't wake up anymore in your mission. The big advantage is that the sedated enemy doesn't count for your rating, because he didn't die and he isn't harmed.

I could recommend this game to everybody who likes to play a stealth game and for those who like a challenge: play this game on Professional and don't give up too soon. If you need to do a mission ten times to finish it, it's only an advantage because you train yourself really good.

Dualshock 4

At the end of the year the PlayStation 4 will be expected in stores. With a new console PlayStation also developed a new controller: Dualshock 4. Dualshock 4 is totally different than Dualshock 3. In this article I will tell about the new features from this controller.

Touchpad
The Dualshock 4 will have a touchpad to add a more dynamic gameplay. The touchpad is multi touch. You can use the touchpad for moves like swiping. I can imagine that the next Little Big Planet will use the touchpad for swiping objects away.

The blue light
The blue light on the back of the controller is used for tracking a player. If you are playing with three friends for example, and you switch places, the camera of the PlayStation 4 can track the light and sees that you switched. If it detects a switch it will change the layout of the screen so you can see easily who you are in the game. It can also change to a different color to indicate that you have low health for example.

Movement tracking
Your movements are tracked by a gyroscope and an accelerometer. I think this replaces PlayStation Move partly. It would be cool if you can use it to roll and duck. In Mass Effect 3 you can roll, it would be awesome to move your controller to the right, and then you roll to the right. It would also be cool to use for jumping. Imagine running over the rooftops in Assassin's Creed and then you move up, and you jump.

Sound
The Dualshock 4 has a port where you can plug your headset in. The big advantage is that you don't need to have a long cable if your television is far away. The controller also has a built-in speaker. The built-in speaker is used for close sounds. If you crash your car, the sound is close so you will here it from your controller, but a car driving by is further away so you will here it through your regular speakers.

Buttons
The start and select button aren't there. They are replaced by a single option button. I wonder how they will replace two buttons by one. Maybe the only thing that changes is the menu which opens. There is a new button on the controller: the share button. With the share button you can capture your gameplay, share your gameplay live, make screenshots and share your activities on social media.

What do you think about Dualshock 4? Post it in the comments below.

Rome Total War 2 Factions

Total War: Rome 2 contains a wide range of factions, each with their own specialty, background and political system. All of these cultures are different from each other: we've got barbarians, the men from the east, Romans, Punics, Egyptians, Greeks… All factions have their strengths and weaknesses and that's not all! Some factions have different playable families so players can decide how they play the game, for example: you could have a Roman family that's very strong on the economic field, but it lacks military power. This can provide some interesting situations!
Well, that was enough speculation! The Creative Assembly announced eight playable factions, I'll show you all of them and I will give some information about them!

1. Rome "Power, honor and duty."
Well, this is the dominating faction in Italy. They are famous for their organization, discipline and tactics. They are all-around: they've got superb infantry, weak/moderate cavalry and some support (archers and catapults). This is a faction where you can choose a family: the Julia, Cornelia and the Junia. All with their strengths and weaknesses!

2. Carthage "Democracy, trade and religion."
The Punics were originally Phoenicians (they come from Lebanon/Syria), they are known for their power on the sea. That's the reason why they are such good merchants. Most of the people know this faction for it's elephants and their Sacred Band of Carthage, the elite forces! This faction also contains three families, just like the Romans.

3. Macedon "Glory, order and power."
We all know the Macedons, a cool faction that lies above the three (major) Greek cities. Nobody trusts them because of all their attempts to rule Illyria, Thracia and the Greek cities. They excel in the military field, but they are very weak on sea. The Macedons have some cool advantages: they are superb when fighting Hellenistic factions and Barbarians! That's why I think Macedon will rule Greece and eastern Europe.

4. Iceni "Iron, conquer and pride."
A Celtic tribe which ruled a province near Norwich, they are the same as the British faction from RTW. But hey, they've got chariots, brave swordsmen and some special units. Are the druids going to make their comeback? We'll see!

5.  Averni "Religion, dignity and power."
Another (Celtic) tribe, which lies in Gaul. They rule the centre of Gaul, they are famous for their (strict) social system and their light spearmen. They have plenty of opportunities: they can expand to Rome, Spain, Britain and to the Germans. It'll be pretty cool when you can reunite all the tribes from Gaul to conquer Italy!

6. Suebi "Blood, nobility and courage."
A German faction which contains a lot of smaller tribes. They are feared for their warfare: they don't surrender! They will use, just like the Averni, spears (not all of them ofcourse). They resemble the Germans from Rome Total war and I don't think that they are changed that much.

7. Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt "Legacy, independence, ability."
Indeed, the Greek kingdom formed after the death of Alexander the Great. His empire was divided between his generals and Egypt was given to Ptolemy, the Greek and Egyptian culture was mixed after that and…  Everybody knows it, so I won't go on. The "Egyptians" have a balanced army: spearmen, swords and elephants. Their marine is also one of their strengths. The perfect faction? No, they have some internal problems between the Greeks and Egyptians. So expect rebellions! An interesting faction!

8. Parthians "Tolerance, justice and profit."
They were once mighty, but they are weak now. Are you the leader who's going to build a strong army to lead the Parthians to glory? The Parthians have some amazing capabilities: their cavalry and their archers. They are a mixed culture and you can see that in their armies: they can recruit groups from different cultures.
So, thats all for now. We will keep you up to date!

Introduction
Assassin's Creed 3: The Tyranny of King Washington is an alternative history based on the American Revolution. In this alternative history George Washington doesn't become president, but he makes himself king. Mister Washington uses the Apple of Eden to gain power over people. The Tyranny of King Washington contains three DLC's. Each DLC has a price of $9.99 or €9.99 or 800 Microsoft points. For seasonpass holders is the DLC free. I bought the seasonpass so I can play all the DLC's of my favorite series!

The Infamy
The Infamy is the first episode of The Tyranny of King Washington. Every DLC contains a animal power, in this DLC it is the power of the wolf. With the power of the wolf you have the possibility to become invisible. While you are invisible you lose health. In wolf mode you can very easy escape enemies. If you use your hands or your hidden blade you can kill enemies without leaving wolf mode. If you use any other weapon to make a kill you will be visible again. There are several new people in this DLC, such as Teiowí:sonte. Teiowí:sonte is the guy you see on the picture right. I prefer to call him 'Chocolate man' because of the chocolate hand on his face. Maybe is Teiowí:sonte the discoverer of chocolate spread and did he enjoyed eating the chocolate spread so much that his hands were full of it, and then he touched his face. Chocolate man is an indian and the brother of Kahionhaténion.

The Betrayal
The second episode is The Betrayal. In the Betrayal you are in Boston. The animal power of this DLC is the Power of the Eagle. With the Power of the Eagle you can fly across small gaps. The Power of the Eagle controls work very easy so you learn fast to use it. A big disadvantage of the Power of the Eagle is that you don't freerun very much anymore, because using the Power of the Eagle makes it possible to move much faster through the city and you can evade enemies very quick so it's the best option to move across Boston. The mission is this game are a bit tougher. I think the quality of the missions is higher. They have a better story than the missions from The Infamy.

The Redemption
The final episode of The Tyranny of King Washington is The Redemption. In the final episode you are in New York to hunt for King Washington. Your special animal power is the Power of the Bear. With the Power of the Bear you create a shockwave which blasts enemies away. The nearby enemies will die instant and the enemies who are further away will only have damage. New York is different than in the normal story, because King Washington made a pyramid in the middle of the city. The pyramid is the new home of Washington and his base of opperations. The DLC starts with a sea mission, one of my favorite parts of the game. You need to shoot many ships in this mission, I loved it! When you're on shore you have mission who look much like the missions of the other DLC's: help the people to gain their trust and help and then hunt down the bad guy from the DLC. The missions aren't very fun to play and very good. In every DLC the mission are focust around the animal power, and in this one the animal power is perfect for mass destruction of enemies, so you need to kill often tens of enemies at a time.

Conclusion
The Tyranny of King Washington is a very good range of DLC's which are all great fun to play. The big advantage of all three DLC's is the variation on the Assassin's Creed concept. The animal powers are brilliantly made and work good. The disadvantages are the price of the DLC's. For each DLC a price of $9.99 or €9.99 or 800 Microsoft points is too much. For sure if you know that every DLC is maximum three hours short.

8
+Great fun
+Good variation
+Animal powers
-Price
-Too short

The new Xbox

Today there are some new Xbox specs leaked. The rumors say that the new Xbox will come in November. That's probably earlier than the release of the PS4, because rumours say that the PS4 will come in December. The new Xbox will have a price of $499. If you don't want to pay too much for the console, you can buy a $299 version, but then you have to pay $10 a month to use it. How long you need to pay $10 isn't told.

The Xbox will probably needs to be always connected to the internet. Many people don't like that because you internet connection could fall away, and then you can't game. I don't think I'm going to buy the new Xbox, because I love my PlayStation too much :). At May 21 the new Xbox will be revealed. For the latest next-gen rumours, check my blog!

Ratchet and Clank movie

Sony announced today that there will be a Ratchet and Clank movie. The movie will come in 2015. Of course it will be filled with good jokes which don't make any sense. I love the humor of the Ratchet and Clank series. All the game that I played from the Ratchet and Clank series have great humor. Sony says on their blog that this game is requested by the fans.

The script is written by the writer who wrote the scripts for all the games. I'm sure that it will be a good script, because of the other games. In the movie you will see all the characters you know from the games, Captain Quark, Ratchet, Clank and probably Doctor Nefarious. Sadly they didn't tell much more than the information that I gave, but if there is more news, you will read it here!

Let's Play Hitman Trilogy HD

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is the first Hitman game I've ever played. Today I finished, much quicker than I thought. I played the game on Normal, so that must be the reason that I finished the game in three days. This game is so good, I love it! In the beginning my gameplay was terrible, I couldn't succeed in killing nobody and stay hidden. In Hitman it isn't necessary to play stealth. If you want to use your Machine Gun and kill every moving thing, you can do it, but it isn't very enjoyable.
All the contracts are different and great fun to play. Every mission has several ways to complete it and you need to find the best way by yourself. The only thing provided by the makers of the game are the objectives. The best kill is made without using a gun, because a gun spreads blood and that's detected guards, so you need to kill somebody different. That's why you have Fiber Wire. With Fiber Wire you can strangle enemies. They won't make sound and the environment stays clean. The only problem is that you need that body. Most of the time you can drag a body behind some crate or a wall. And then you need to hope that there is nobody who detects the body.

Today I started Hitman: Contracts after finishing Silent Assassin. The first thing I noticed when I started Contracts was the improved graphics, it's a huge difference. The controls are different and that's quite difficult. The L2 button is in Silent Assassin sprinting, but in Contracts it's sneaking. I didn't play Contracts very long so I can't tell much. Luckily for you I have still fifty Hitman contracts to do in three games, so you will hear much about the series!

Hitman Trilogy HD

Tuesday I bought the Hitman Trilogy HD in the PlayStation Store. I bought this game because of the price, it was only ten euros. The Trilogy features Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money. After I 'finished' Mass Effect 3, I started the Trilogy with Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin came out in 2002. The game starts in Italy. Hitman is at the beginning of Silent Assassin a gardener in a monastery. The priest of the monastery is kidnapped, so Hitman goes after him.
I like this game very much. The gameplay is very challenging and fun. At every contract there are many ways to finish it. It's quite difficult to finish a level without killing any other person than the target and not being discovered. Until now I succeeded only one time to get the Silent Assassin rating. At the end of every mission you get a rating based on the amount of bullets you shot, the amount of people you kill and the amount of conflicts you have. So if they are all zero, except for the kill, that is allowed to be one, you get the Silent Assassin rating.

Thanks to this game I know good graphics are not necessary for a game. If the gameplay is good, you don't need good graphics. Good graphics are even a bit distracting. In Hitman I never look at a computer screen, the only thing that on it is several white lines. In Mass Effect 3 for example, you see animations on the screen of a computer, and that's not necessary for a game. The next weeks you will read a lot about Hitman, because of the other games in the trilogy and because Hitman Absolution is free for PlayStation Plus next month!

Let's play Mass Effect 3 part 6

Finally I finished all side missions. The most of them were Citadel missions. The only thing I needed to do for them was launching a probe at the right place on the right planet. The N7 missions were very good, but a bit short. I started the Priority: Cerberus Headquarters mission, so from now on I can't access the Citadel anymore, sadly enough. The Citadel is a beautiful place with is very restful. Thanks to my weapons the big enemies, such as Brutes and Atlas Mechs aren't a big deal. Yesterday I killed a Atlas Mech in 30 seconds. That's quite quick, the first time I was very surprised how easy it went.

The mission at earth was a very tough one. There were many enemies per wave, most of the fime ten Cannibals, four Marauders and some extra enemies for example several Brutes or Banshees. Sadly enough my teammates couldn't survive very good at earth. They died often and that was very annoying, because I needed to revive them to use their powers. I like the idea to save the earth, it feels very heroic when you reach the end of the mission. You saved the earth. I like that idea. The final cutscenes were very good, good story and nicely designed.

But then I had the choice: Destruction of the Reapers, Control the Reapers or Synthesize organics and synthetics. I wanted the choose for Destruction, but then I shot a thing (I don't say what or who, because that will reveal the whole story) and I got a new cutscene, although I didn't choose one of the three options. After that I got several cutscenes and then the credits. So I made no choice, but I finished the game. I didn't got the trophies from finishing the game and finishing the game on Insanity. After the credits I was placed back to my save from before the moment when I started the earth mission. It makes me quite angry that I could 'finish' the game because I shot a bullet. When I feel that I want to do the earth mission again, I will do it, but not now.

GTA V

Grand Theft Auto V, it's the biggest gaming hype at the moment. Nearly every gamer wants a copy of the new GTA, and I'm one of them. I've played all GTA III era and all GTA IV era games and they were all good. If you look at the difference between GTA San Andreas and GTA IV, you see that it is a huge step forward. The games came 4 years after each other. GTA V is coming 5 years later then GTA IV, so I think it's very good possible that the step is as big as it was from GTA SA to GTA IV.

I think I'm going to pre-order this game, because I love the series and I'm sure this game is going to be the best of all. I'm wondering how the three player system is going to be. I think that it will be fun in the beginning but after a while I think I play with only one character: Trevor. Although is a drug-addict, he is totally crazy, and I like crazy protagonists. The most important reason that he is my favorite character is that he can fly helicopters and planes. In every game I like to fly around because you have much freedom and you can come everywhere. Are you going to buy this game?

Let's play Mass Effect 3 part 5

I'm still busy with Mass Effect 3. With the storyline I'm at approximately 75% and with the side mission I need to do about 10. The game isn't as difficult as it was in the beginning. Maybe that's because I found good tactics and have good weapons. Killing enemies is a lot easier now. With overload I destroy shields most of the time immediately.

In my squad I have most of the time Garrus and Ashley. They have the same weapons, a sniper and an assault rifle, but their powers are very different. The reason why I prefer two squadmates with an assault rifle is the power of them. Liara is also a very useful squadmate, but she dies more often than Ashley or Garrus and that is the same with EDI.

I tried also to get a relation with Specialist Traynor, but when I asked in a conversation I found out she is a lesbian person, and I'm male Shepard so that wasn't possible. After that I tried to get a relationship with Ashley and I have now a relation with her. I didn't had all cutscenes yet, but that will come.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is the latest game in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is an '80s styled cyber game. The game is playing in 2007. I think this game is what an '80s game would be if it's made in 2013. As you see at the picture right, it's still in Far Cry 3 style. The car is similar to the cars from Far Cry 3 and the helicopter also. The textures look also much like the textures from Far Cry 3. I think the game is technical the same as Far Cry 3, but the looks are different.

It's a weird game, which I still don't fully understand. Just take a look at the website and you know Ubisoft is kidding you. These old fashioned, flashing, coloured letters and the terrible square shaped background and the ugly layout of the website. This game is one big joke, but also very serious. I don't understand what Ubisoft wants to do with this game and what the intention is of the game and the marketing strategy, but I will write more about this game for sure, because I like the Far Cry series.

What do you think about Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon?

Let's Play Mass Effect 3 part 4

Already part four of the Let's Play! I'm with the Priority missions halfway and with the side missions a bit further then halfway. I still love the game, it's so beautiful, good and balanced. But that will come in a review.

I have a new assault rifle: the M-76 Revenant. What a beast! Perfect for killing extreme amounts of enemies. The gun fires at a high rate and deals many damage. It's full automatic, I like full automatic more then semi-automatic. Before I had the M-76 I used a M-15 Vindicator, which is semi-automatic. The M-15 shoots in bursts of three bullets. They biggest disadvantage of the M-76 is the recoil, it's terrible. I installed a reduced recoil mod which reduces the recoil by 30%, but still it's quite annoying.

I still didn't try the multiplayer, but I must say I don't play often multiplayer on any game. I'm more a single player. At Priority Tuchancka you need to activate two buttons at the end, which are guarded by a huge Reaper and six Brutes. I looked at several sites to see what tactics they used. All they said to kill all Brutes. That's nearly impossible because they have too much armor to kill them quick, it will cost you several magazines. So I chose to kill them not, but run as fast as possible to the buttons. And it worked!!! Without dying by the way. My teammates didn't like the tactic I used, they both died before I activated the first button. For more Mass Effect 3, stay tuned!

Extra: check these nails!

Trophies

Trophies or Achievements, every gamer knows them. Some of them love them, others don't care. I'm one of those lovers. I think trophy hunting adds an extra challenge to a game. To get all trophies in a game is for me an extra challenge. At this moment I got 554 trophies, whose 3 are platinum. I've got Sleeping Dogs Assassin's Creed 2 and Far Cry 3 at platinum. I always try to get all trophies, but it isn't a big success until now because I have 24 games. But I keep trying to get all trophies.

How do you think about tropies? Do you try to get them all or don't you do anything with them?

Let's Play Mass Effect 3 part 3

I never liked science fiction and aliens very much. Until I started Mass Effect 3. This game is so cool, I keep playing it with very much fun. Today I downloaded the Mass Effect 3: Datapad app. From this app you can watch videos and pictures, read the codex, receive mail from characters and most important: you can manage the Galaxy Map. There are three missions per main theater. If you complete these missions you increase your readiness rating. I like the concept that you can keep playing a game while you are not behind you console. I use for example the Far Cry 3 Outpost app several times a week so I keep advancing. Without playing Far Cry 3 I already gained 20000 XP and many weapon mods.

In the game I try to play all side missions so I don't advance very much with the main story. Yesterday I did the Attican Traverse: Krogan Team mission. It wasn't a very good mission because it was much the same. You need to destroy Reaper nodes and kill a bunch of enemies several times. The still need to play the multiplayer, but the single player is so good that I keep playing it. I keep you up to date about my Mass Effect adventures and don't forget to +1 me!

Review: Earn to Die iOS

Introduction
Today it's time for to review the first mobile game: Earn to Die. Earn to Die has a Lite version, you can play it until you reached the end of level one. The full version costs $0.99 or €0.89. I knew Earn to Die already from the web version so I already knew what I could expect. Earn to Die has an iOS app and an Android app. I'm playing the game on my iPod Touch 4g.

The game
In the begin you get an simple car which doesn't have a big range. If you drive you earn money for distance and for killing zombies. You always earn enough money to buy a upgrade. After a while my first car was fully upgraded so I needed to buy the next one. And that happened seven times, because there are eight cars. That is a disadvantage of this game: it's often the same. You don't need to do very much, only holding 'Accelerate' is enough to reach good scores.

Beating story mode costs about 3 hours. After you completed story mode you can play Halloween mode and Campaign mode. In Halloween mode you need to destroy pumpkins laying in the levels. In Campaign mode you get a limited budget to upgrade a car. When you upgraded your car you need to drive one of the levels as fast as you can. If you connect to Game Centre you will see the times of your friends so you can try to beat them. The game is very spectacular because of the explosions, the flying parts of zombies, jumps and structures you can drive through.
